PETALING JAYA: With a focus to bring smile and hope, Exy Intellectual Property Sdn. Bhd. (Exy IP) continuously held an outreach CSR Program known as #exyipseeyou to reach the unprivileged community. This time around, the Lunar New Year Celebration was made meaningful for the Xiao Xin Old Folks Home in Taman Sri Serdang when #exyipseeyou were able to dedicate quality time with such lovely elderlies. Considering the elderly as a vulnerable group, this celebration has been made simple yet full of enjoyment in adherence to the standard operating procedures (SOPs).

There are 13 residents that have been well taken care of, which consists of 56 – 84 years old. Some of them suffer from stroke, deafness, IQ problems, high blood pressure, Parkinson’s, skin disease and heart disease. Despite the condition, it has never been a hesitance for #exyipseeyou to extend a helping hand by cheering them out with some Ang Pau along with disinfectant kit and bucket of KFC that creates a joyous moment for this celebration. In an effort to lighten up their burden, #exyipseeyou has also collaborated with Lotuss Stores (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd, Puchong branch in donating some essential groceries.

To complete this celebration, #exyipseeyou couldn’t miss a chance to toss the Yee Sang with the elderlies. It sparks a whole new meaning to the smiling face, during the moment Yee Sang were tossed high to rake in those good fortunes.

Mr Ooi Yeong Boon, Managing Director (MD) of Exy IP said “An outreach like this allows the elderly to feel included as a family especially when the auspicious toss could remind them of good times.” He also added that this outreach implied as a continuity to the effort in reaching out to the underprivileged for #exyipseeyou to give back. “We not only came here to hand the goods and go home but rather to dedicate some quality time for them to know, there are people out there who actually care for them. What we actually did was bring the cheer of festivities to their safe environment that has been called home” told him again.

In delivering the festive cheers to the home, #exyipseeyou embarked on a mission to fulfill one of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which integrates the inclusion of the elderly in many areas including healthcare and community enrichment. Through Malaysia’s Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 (SPV2030) aspiration, has also been the agenda for #exyipseeyou to fully committed to. This entails has given Exy IP a platform to create a smile again on their faces through CSR practices, and we hope to expand this effort through more collaborations especially in reaching out to those in need.
