The UAE Ministry of Economy issued an official ratification on November 20, 2023, presenting updated fees for Patents, Designs, and Utility Models. The UAE Cabinet of Ministers has assented to the fees under Resolution No. (112) of 2023, amend certain provisions of Cabinet Resolution No. (20) of 2020 concerning the fees for services offered by the Ministry of Economy. Among the significant amendments are the introduction of new fees to accommodate small and medium businesses (SMEs) and the reinstatement of fees for services that were previously provided at no cost by the Ministry, such as annuities and representation alterations. The implementation of these changes will commence two months after their publication in the UAE Official Gazette.
