As of June 2025, the Egyptian Intellectual Property Authority (EGIPA) has enforced Decision No. 34 of 2025, introducing a late patent examination fee of EGP 25,000 (approx. USD 503) for requests submitted more than 3 months after the national filing date. This measure is immediately effective and accompanies a general increase in official fees across multiple stages of the patent process.
