2️⃣ Direct Foreign Application: Foreign companies can now file for trademarks directly without needing to register a local business entity.
3️⃣ Customs Border Controls: Trademark owners can now work directly with Maldives Customs to seize counterfeit goods right at the border.
4️⃣ Stronger Punishments: The law introduces civil damages and criminal penalties for counterfeiting, with fines reaching up to MVR 2,000,000.
