In a high-stakes legal battle, Unwired Planet is taking on Huawei over the infringement of crucial 2G and 3G wireless patents, originally held by Ericsson, which are supposed to be licensed on Fair, Reasonable, and Non-Discriminatory (FRAND) terms.

After failed licensing talks, Unwired Planet won a major victory in 2016, with a German court ruling that Huawei must pay damages and provide financial details.

But the fight isn’t over yet! The Higher District Court of Düsseldorf upheld most of the ruling, though limiting some financial disclosures.

Now, the case is heading to Germany’s Federal Court of Justice for the next round!
